This is a unique, metallic Raku piece. This piece is fired to around 1850F. Once hitting temperature, the piece is removed from the kiln, placed in a lidded container and smothered in combustibles. Due to this sealed environment, the piece is introduced into a state of reduction causing flashes of metallics and coppers. The Raku process produces one-of-a-kind pieces with gorgeous effects.
NOTE: Raku pieces are not food safe due to the heavy metals used in the glazes during the firing process.
